Army Soldier Injured in Landmine Blast Near LoC in J&K’s Rajouri
Srinagar / New Delhi: An Indian Army soldier was injured in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Monday, defence sources said.
The blast occurred in a forward area close to the LoC, where forces routinely conduct patrols as part of counter-infiltration duties. Officials said the soldier sustained injuries in the explosion and was evacuated for medical treatment.
Further details on his condition or the exact circumstances leading to the blast have not been officially released.
Rajouri’s forward terrain along the LoC is known to contain pre-planted anti-infiltration landmines, which can pose hazards to troops during patrols and routine movements. Similar incidents involving landmine blasts injuring soldiers have occurred in the region in past years, highlighting ongoing security and safety challenges in the border area.
The Army has not yet released a formal statement on the incident. Updates are awaited as more information becomes available.
