New Delhi: Iran’s top security official Ali Larijani has claimed that more than 500 U.S. military personnel were killed in recent days, alleging heavy American losses as fighting between Iran, the United States and Israel intensifies across the region.
Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, issued the statement on social media Wednesday, warning that the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would carry a “heavy price” and accusing U.S. President Donald Trump of dragging America into what he described as an unjust war under Israeli influence.
The claims come amid expanding hostilities following U.S.–Israeli strikes inside Iran and subsequent retaliatory Iranian missile and drone attacks on regional targets.
Independent verification of casualty figures remains limited, with official U.S. confirmations significantly lower than the 500-plus deaths alleged by Tehran.
