New Delhi / Secunderabad: Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan emphasized the need for the Indian Armed Forces to transition from net-centric operations to Intelligent Warfare, moving beyond conventional Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) to All Realm All Domain Operations (ARADO) during his address at the College of Defence Management (CDM).

Inaugurating the annual seminar themed “Multi-Domain Integrated Technologically-Empowered Resilient Armed Forces (MITRA)”, General Chauhan highlighted the Third Revolution in Military Affairs, describing Convergence Warfare as the integration of contact and non-contact, kinetic and non-kinetic, and traditional and emerging domains across all conflict levels.

He also stressed the importance of establishing non-nuclear strategic deterrence to maintain the capability to succeed across all escalation levels.

The two-day seminar, held on February 24–25 with the Indian School of Business as knowledge partner, provided a strategic platform to examine lessons from contemporary conflicts and align them with India’s operational environment.

The MITRA framework seeks to develop forces that are multi-domain in vision, integrated in action, technology-empowered in execution, and resilient in purpose.

Senior defence officials, scholars, industry partners, and practitioners participated in discussions aimed at bolstering self-reliance, structural reform, and strategic foresight. The seminar emphasized the use of advanced technology and management practices to strengthen India’s military capability and comprehensive national power.

Established in December 1970, CDM has served as a premier tri-service institution, equipping military leadership with contemporary management concepts, best practices, and strategic insights.

Its annual seminars have historically addressed themes from strategic challenges and leadership transformation to geopolitical power shifts and self-reliance, reinforcing the college’s role in shaping the future-ready Indian Armed Forces.
