New Delhi / Davos: Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has reaffirmed his loyalty to the Congress party amid speculation over the Chief Minister post in Karnataka. In an exclusive interview with NDTV from Davos, Shivakumar stated that his leader Rahul Gandhi “will not let me down” regarding the ongoing controversy involving Siddaramaiah.

The remarks come as internal party dynamics continue to heat up ahead of key state and national events, with the Congress high command yet to announce a decision on the CM position. Analysts note that the unfolding situation reflects broader strategic calculations within the party ahead of the upcoming assembly and parliamentary elections.

Shivakumar, a senior Congress leader and Deputy CM, emphasized that he remains committed to party unity and will abide by the high command’s decision. Party sources said discussions are ongoing to ensure a smooth transition and to maintain cohesion among leaders in Karnataka.

Political observers said that Congress’s handling of the CM post controversy could have significant implications for its performance in the southern state and impact broader alliances at the national level. The internal deliberations are being closely monitored by both state and national stakeholders.
