EPSTEIN FILES: Trump Questions Reporter, Gates Issues Apology
New Delhi: The latest release of Jeffrey Epstein’s files by the U.S. Department of Justice has stirred political tension. Former President Donald Trump and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates are both under the spotlight.
During a press briefing, Trump lashed out at a CNN reporter who asked about the files. He called her “the worst” and mocked her for not smiling. Trump says he never visited Epstein’s island and denies any involvement in criminal activity. Fact-checkers say many claims about him are unverified.
Bill Gates spoke publicly for the first time since his name appeared in the files. He said he “regrets every minute” spent with Epstein and stressed that their meetings were about philanthropy, not misconduct.
Gates denied visiting Epstein’s island or meeting women through him.
Melinda French Gates called the resurfacing of the claims “painful” and urged clarity. The DOJ released the files under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, producing millions of pages.
Survivors and advocacy groups say many abusers remain unpunished, while political leaders face scrutiny.
The controversy continues to unfold, keeping the media, legal authorities, and the public focused on one of the most debated legal archives in recent history.
